We're looking for a SHE Manager to join our Natural Resources Team working on projects in the Thames Valley region. In this role you'll manage Kier's SHE function in support of the Thames Water framework on projects in wastewater treatment upgrades and resilience works.
 

Location: Working from home and site/offices as and when required across the Thames Valley region (inc. Oxfordshire/Hertfordshire/Buckinghamshire and surrounding areas)

Contract: Permanent, Full Time – flexible and part time hours may be available if desired, just let us know


Responsibilities

We're looking for a SHE Manager to join our NRNN business unit Water business unit looking after the Thames Water Framework. This role plays a vital role in supporting, motivating and driving the SHE team to a high performing standard where they provide first class support to operational teams at all levels. You'll promote safety, ensuring mitigation against risk and drive improvement in SHE performance across the framework. You will be happy to travel across the Thames Water region daily.

Your day to day will include:

  • Actively promoting safety, health, wellbeing and environmental topics, leading and setting a good example to other employees, contractors and stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain the safety management system in line with the needs of Kier and Thames Water.
  • Providing timely and affective operational SHE support and advice and ensuring operational compliance to approved SHE procedures.
  • Ensuring that all SHE reporting requirements are provided accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all accidents, incidents and near misses are effectively investigated, contributing to incident review boards as required.

What are we looking for?

This SHE Manager is great for you if you have:

  • With proven experience in a H&S role within a similar construction, civils or utilities environment.
  • NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent level 5/6 H&S qualification) and membership of relevant professional institution.
  • Experience with incident investigation and reporting and managing a team of people.
  • Full UK Driving Licence


What are we looking for?

This SHE Manager is great for you if you are:

  • With prior SHE experience you'll be degree, NVQ or NEBOSH Diploma qualified in Safety, Health & Environmental subjects, and hold strong knowledge and experience of construction safety.
  • Membership in relevant professional institution with proven practical H&S experience working in the construction/utilities sector.
  • Experience in managing a team of H&S professionals.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 Standards.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
