What will you be responsible for?

As a Senior Supervisor, you'll be working within the Maintenance team, supporting them with all elements of highways maintenance activities on the Somerset Highways term service contract, this role will oversee the timely development / delivery of all works.

Your day to day will include:

• Assisting the Planned Works Manager in the programming, management and delivery of all works, allocating and supervising works and resources checking compliance with the program and maintenance requirement plan
• Undertaking site inductions / briefings / toolbox talks and maintain records of all, liaising with supply chain, maintaining delivery timeframes, quality and Kier minimum standards, actively promoting health and safety in the workplace, setting a good example to other employees and ensuring awareness of and compliance with general health and safety responsibilities as set out in the health and safety management system (SHEMS)
• Understanding and implementing the Somerset IMS  ensuring processes / procedures are understood and followed
• Maintaining adequate staffing levels are, taking an active role in managing performance, training, and development in accordance with business needs
• Liaising with the Fleet / Transport Manager keeping up  to date with the maintenance of vehicles and plant and checking when they are required for servicing, assessing plant and material needs for works, undertaking risk assessments & safety checks, toolbox talks and audits, reviewing daily productivity targets and managing budgets effectively 

What are we looking for?

This role of Senior Supervisor is great for you if:

• You can successfully lead a team, with experience of working within the highways industry including knowledge of network operations and scheme delivery
• Sound stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate across different levels
• Drive and hold a licence with SSSTS or higher
