We are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join us at Devonport Royal Dockyard, Plymouth where we are the preferred contractor to carry out heavy civil engineering construction in and around the Royal Navy dockyard.
Due to the site being a high Security Military Navy base, additional security checks will need to be made - BPSS/SC level of security clearance is required. These checks can take up to 8 weeks to process. Only candidates holding EU & NATO member passports can be considered for this role.

Responsibilities of a Civils Senior Quantity Surveyor
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be working within the Major Projects team supporting us at Devonport Royal Dockyard, Plymouth, where we are the preferred contractor to carry out a large complex building and heavy civil engineering construction in and around the Royal Navy dockyard.
Your day to day will include:
- Management of a £40m package of works on a Nuclear licensed site including the management of a team of junior QS' mentoring and nurturing their development to assist with the following tasks where applicable.
- Provide commercial input including financial and contractual performance forecasts to the management team. Help ensure that business targets and KPI's are met / exceeded.
- Ensure cash flow is maximised including ensuring payments are made and received on time.
- Preparation and review of monthly cost reports for area, together with review of results and consideration of trends with other contract team members
- Forecasting and monitoring spend against approved Client budgets.
What we are looking for?
This role of Senior Quantity Surveyor is great for you, if:
- Fully converse and experience of NEC Contracts
- Experience with the use of CEMAR desired but not essential
- Experience working with Coins / Causeway accounting systems.
