We're looking for a Managing Quantity Surveyor in Leeds 

 

Location: Leeds / Yorkshire, working between office and projects with some opportunity for home working

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 

 

What will you be responsible for?

 

As Managing Quantity Surveyor you will take on a key role in the business ensuring commercial success throughout the commercial lifecycle from driving the conversion of stage two bids, successful delivery of high value projects and acting as a manager / mentor to commercial staff in the region. 

 

Your day to day will include:

 

  • Taking commercial lead on PCSA on projects, advising on financial feasibility of projects at early stages
  • Organising the division of projects into component work packages for procurement.
  • Assessing returns from sub-contractors and awarding work packages.
  • Negotiating with sub-contractor supply chain to achieve best value.
  • Preparation of applications for payment to clients.
  • Monitoring and measuring actual expenditure against budgeted project expenditure in the form of CVR (Cost Value Reconciliation Reports)
  • Preparation of final accounts
  • Managing team workloads and ensuring performance across projects
  • Checking and collating commercial information from team to report to the regional commercial manager 

 

What are we looking for?

 

This role of Managing Quantity Surveyor is great for you if:

 

  • Hold a degree level qualification in Quantity Surveying 
  • Experience working on large 2 stage bids, leading conversion if PCSA to ensure pipeline progression. 
  • Strong Knowledge of NEC and JCT Contract forms 
  • Prior experience of working within the Tier 1 main contracting environment in a senior commercial position
  • Ability to manage a varied workload across projects. 
  • Ability to manage and mentor more junior staff
