We're looking for a  Sustainability & Environmental Graduate  to join our Kier Places team based in Rushden, Northampton.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading construction and infrastructure services company on our structured graduate development programme. These programmes have been designed to provide you with the experiences and tools needed for progression within your chosen career.

 

Location: Rushden, Northampton-  with travel required around the A14 corridor and the South of UK

Contract: Permanent, full time - 40 hours per week 

Salary: £29,250 per annum

Start date: September 2025

As a Sustainability & Environmental Graduate, you will work across our projects with the Social Value and Environmental team. Working closely with our team of Environmental Advisors and Social Value Coordinators, supporting them in delivering targets across a wide range of contracts in Kier Places.

In this exciting role you will proactively work with project teams, subcontractors, and local stakeholder partners, to establish and develop social engagement sessions to help support the needs of our local community.  The role will also involve ensuring environmental compliance through our system Rio, as well as reporting, monitoring, and analysing our social value and environmental data.

 

 

Your day to day will include:

  • Working alongside our Environment Advisor and Social Value Coordinators to deliver agreed Environment and Social Sustainability targets during the lifecycle of the project.
  • Being an active contributor to the Places strategy on all things Sustainability.
  • Liaising with subcontractors to collate documentation and data for Environment and Social value.
  • Uploading environmental information and documentation onto Rio ensuring legal compliance.

 

How does the graduate scheme work?

When you join, you will be enrolled onto our graduate scheme. The programme will take 2 years to complete and has been designed to equip you with the skills you need to excel in your chosen profession and help you achieve professional membership or chartership.

What are we looking for?

We're looking for people due to graduate in 2025, or have recently graduated within the past three years, with a degree in Environmental/ Sustainability or a related field. 

The role of Sustainability & Environmental Graduate is great for you if:

  • Data handling and using it to tell a story - through verification and reporting
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Engaged with a commitment to create and sustain relationships at all levels
  • Confidence in meeting and working with a diverse range of people from a variety of backgrounds.
  • Hold a full UK driver license.
