We're looking for a Finance Apprentice to join our Rail team based in Solihull, West Midlands, working towards a Level 3 apprenticeship in Accounting.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading construction and infrastructure services company on an apprenticeship. Whilst working towards a recognised qualification, you'll be able to put your learnings into practice in your day-to-day role, helping you progress within your chosen career.

 

Location: Solihull, West Midlands

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

Salary: £16,000 per annum

 

 

How does an apprenticeship work?

As a Finance Apprentice you'll be enrolled onto an Assistant Accountant Level 3 Apprenticeship, giving you the opportunity to earn whilst you learn.

You'll be working within the Kier Rail team, supporting a wide range of rail infrastructure projects for a diverse customer base. Our projects range from major improvements to complete construction of new stations, with specialist teams, we manage complex works from conception through to delivery.

Your day to day will include:

  • Processing purchase orders through the online finance portal and handling purchase invoice queries
  • Producing weekly cost reports for the Commercial team and ad-hoc reports for the Finance Manager
  • Liaising with Operations and Quantity Surveyors on client and supply chain queries
  • Raising 3rd party invoices and handling the recovery of aged debt
  • Monitoring cost and time bookings to ensure accurate cost allocation and cost recovery
