We're looking for a Highways Drainage Maintenance Operative to join our Highways Maintenance team based in Birmingham.
Location: Birmingham – remote working not available, with travel across the network as required.
Contract: Full-Time – flexible hours available if desired, just let us know.
Salary: £25,000 to £34,000
What will you be responsible for?
As a Highways Drainage Maintenance Operative, you'll be working within the highways maintenance team, supporting them in maintaining the safety and functionality of the highway drainage systems.
Your day-to-day will include:
- Responding to highway network incidents and liaising with emergency services to minimize traffic disruption.
- Carrying out drainage maintenance, including gully cleaning and jetting, as well as ironwork installations.
- Accurately recording work through WMS/MMW applications and providing timely reports.
- Promoting health and safety best practices and ensuring all work complies with regulations.

- You are capable of working under pressure in a safety-critical environment.
- You are self-motivated and confident in communicating with a range of stakeholders.
- You hold a full driving licence and relevant Streetworks qualifications.
