We're looking for an Supervisor to join our Transportation team based in Enfield. The TfL Tunnels and Pump Station team undertake maintenance of mechanical, electrical and control systems for 10 London road tunnels and 107 pump stations, as well as renewals, intelligent transport systems, safety inspections and cleaning. Location: Enfield, London

Hours: 42 hours, Monday to Sunday rolling shift pattern

 

What will you be responsible for?

As a Supervisor, you'll be working in the Tunnels and Pump Stations  team, supporting them in shift supervision on the contract, management of a team undertaking planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance, emergency responses, and management of sub-contracted works. All in compliance with client specifications, work schedules strict KPI's.

  • Working closely with team members, supply chain and client, contributing to the maintenance of a safe and healthy working environment for both the stakeholder asset users and work teams by ensuring compliance with all relevant health & safety regulations
  • Undertaking investigations, compiling detailed reports and implementing solutions, site supervision of internal business operational teams including supply chain partners operating on the network
  • Ensuring programming and delivery of cyclic maintenance, inspection, repair work to meet contract KPI requirements while minimising road space occupancy and making best use of resources. managing response to emergency situations within the parameters of the TaPS contract day-to-day
  • Producing risk assessments and method statements and maintaining them to current work practices / legislation, communicating findings / changes
  • Actively promoting health and safety in the workplace, setting a good example to other employees and ensuring awareness of and compliance with the general health and safety responsibilities as set out in the business health and safety procedures standards

 

What are we looking for?

This role of Senior Engineer is great for you if:

  • You hold an appropriate knowledge of electrical, mechanical, traffic management, automated monitoring / control systems and construction works needed to ensure the smooth running of the tunnels, experience in the day-to-day operational procedures regarding all maintenance and reactive works, and have a proven excellence in leadership skills of employees, monitor, motivate & develop staff
  • Have a relevant electrical / mechanical engineering qualification; Diploma, BTEC, City and Guilds, SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) and CSCS / CITB in health and safety
  • Demonstrate the ability to work under pressure and be capable of making on the spot decisions, but also have good judgment skills, able to communicate with a range of stakeholders, NRSWA qualification, a full driving licence to visit sites and offices
