We're looking for a Supervisor to join our Transportation team based in Shropshire. This is for our highly esteemed maintenance works contract supporting the Shropshire road network. Location: Shrewsbury / Craven Arms / Oswestry, Shropshire
Hours: 40 hours per week
What will you be responsible for?
As a Supervisor, you'll be working within the Schemes team, supporting them with the supervision, planning, health and safety of site teams for routine, minor works, schemes, bridges and structures, delivering works safely and on budget and to delivery target dates. There will be a need to be available if required, for winter service and emergency out of hours.
Your day to day will include:
- Assisting the Delivery Manager in the programming, management and delivery of routine and severe weather services, managing performance, training, and development in accordance with business needs
- Effective planning, programming & delivery of programme of works, achievement of company and contractual KPI's and year-on-year improvement of contract / scheme KPI's
- Daily allocation and supervision of works and resources ensuring compliance with program and the maintenance requirement plan, helping with emergency response, organising remedial repairs, undertaking site inductions, briefings, toolbox talks and maintaining records relating to these
- Actively promoting health and safety in the workplace, setting a good example to other employees and ensuring awareness of and compliance with general health and safety responsibilities as set out in the health and safety management system (SHEMS)
- Liaising with the client, members of the public and other key stakeholders including the emergency services where required
What are we looking for?
This role of Supervisor is great for you if:
- You can lead and motivate teams successfully, with experience working within the highways industry including knowledge of network operations and scheme delivery
- Hold an SSSTS or higher, can drive and hold a full driving licence, knowledge of temporary works requirements such as Temporary Works Supervisor (TWS)
- Are able to communicate with a range of stakeholders
