We're looking for a Social Value Manager to join our Scottish Construction business. This role is integral to ensuring the delivery of meaningful social value across the regional projects, working effectively with site teams, preconstruction teams, clients and external stakeholders.
Location: Stepps, Glasgow, Scotland
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Can consider flexibility if required.
What will you be responsible for?
The Social Value Manager will be responsible for overseeing social value delivery across the region, ensuring the social value team is working effectively and managing all social value risk.
As Social Value Manager you core duties may include but not be limited to:
- To work as part of the wider and sustainability team to deliver and implement the local construction sustainability strategy for the Business Unit and support the wider Kier Building for
a Sustainable World strategy. - Undertake hands on delivery of programmes across the region, leading events and initiatives across the region.
- Lead the regional social value team, chairing regional meetings, allocating appropriate resource throughout the region, and being accountable for business unit targets and reporting.
Support strategic regional work winning and contribute to national strategic work winning. - Drive supply chain social value engagement within their region.
- To support the Social Value Advisors to create social value plans, deliver social value on sites and write tender answers.
- Oversee the communication and marketing of social value.
- To provide BU KPIs to construction centre and ensure that targets are being met and risks are being mitigated.
- Attend Social Impact Leadership Team meetings.
- Take ownership of at least one subject as an SME (Subject Matter Expert) and create construction-wide resources (e.g. template responses, case studies, education resources)
- STEM Ambassador – engage in volunteering and train others
What are we looking for?
This role of Social Value Manager is great for you if you can demonstrate :
- High level subject matter expertise enabling you to act as Social Value (SV) champion to all internal and external stakeholders, able to draw on expert knowledge to advise on specific Social Value and community issues.
- Expert knowledge of the Social Value Act, Local Authority Social Value drivers and relevant framework requirements.
- Ability to work and communicate at all levels in a way that encourages two-way communication. Comfortable with both groups and individuals.
- Adopts an organised and systematic approach to work and incorporates flexibility to respond to changes in tasking.
- Ability to drive both strategy and delivery as required, ability ti pivot and manage work loads
- Builds alliances inside and outside the business to meet strategic objectives.
- Experience of preparing and managing projects and events.
- Knowledge and understanding of construction / built environment industry an advantage
- Hold Full UK Driving License and are able to undertake travel to multiple locations across Scotland in the execution of your duties
