We're looking for a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor (HSW Advisor) to join our Construction team, on an exciting project at our HMP Glasgow Prison site.
Location: Glasgow, Scotland. We have on site parking.
Contract: Permanent – Full Time (42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday)
What will you be responsible for?
As a HSW Advisor you'll be working within the Construction team, by providing specialist Health, Safety & Welfare advice on site.
Your day to day will include:
- Carrying out regular audits, inspections and visits to identify safe and unsafe on-site working conditions and practices. Report on findings of inspections and make recommendations to remedy any defects found using Kier software systems.
- Promoting and fully participate in the implementation of the Kier Behavioural Safety Programme; Think Safety Differently.
- Carrying out HSW tasks that are required to maintain Kier Group HSW/SHE policies and procedures, as directed by the HSW Manager.
- Advising on the practical implementation of CDM, Safe Systems of Work, Construction Phase Plans, Environmental Management Plans and Wellbeing strategies.
- Compiling accident reports for reportable accidents and provide recommendations to prevent reoccurrence. Send reports to the HSW Manager and Project Director/Manager and ensure recommendations are actioned in a timely manner.
- Conducting advisory future focus meetings.
What are we looking for?
This role of HSW Advisor is great for you if you have:
- A NEBOSH Diploma or similar, along with a NEBOSH General and Construction certificate.
- Experience gained within the construction site environment and are currently a member of a professional body (minimum Tech IOSH).
- A Working knowledge of the environment and sustainability regulatory standards IS0 9001, 14001 & 45001.
- Excellent IT and written skills, being able to communicate clearly both orally and in report form. You must be able to build strong trusted relationships with the Kier project management team and our supply chain partners.
- A Full UK Driving License.
