We're looking for an experienced Senior Environmental Advisor for a distinguished landscape-focused highways improvement project in Gloucestershire. The role involves supporting the Environmental Manager in managing intricate environmental compliance issues and advancing the sustainability agenda.

Location: Gloucester, Gloucestershire
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: £40k - £50k + private healthcare + car + paid travel allowance to site + benefits
What will your responsibilities be?
As Senior Environmental Advisor, you'll provide a specialist service and advice to the project teams on all aspects of environmental management and ensure environmental compliance. The role will also help promote and drive the Kier Transportation Sustainability Strategy, establish, and meet targets within the A417 One Planet Action Plans
What will your day to day duties include?
- Ensure that National Highways environmental requirements and commitments are met, ensuring evidence of completion and close out is collated.
- Ensure all environmental consents and permits conditions are complied with.
- Ensure compliance with s61 consents where required and liaise with local authorities regarding potential nuisance issues (noise, vibration, dust, light) and ensure project team is aware of any conditions or restrictions.
- Work proactively with project delivery teams to ensure environmental issues are adequately understood and managed and provide support and guidance on environmental issues.
- Critically review project environmental performance with a view to identifying opportunities for improvement or developing best practice
What are we looking for?
- Environmental/Sustainability degree or equivalent
- Member of an environmental/sustainability institute (e.g. IEMA, CIEEM, CIWM)
- Previous experience within construction, preferably supporting large scale civil engineering projects.
