We're looking for a Porter to join our team based in Huntington, Cambridge.

 

Location: Hinchingbrooke Treatment Centre - Huntington, Cambridge.

Hours: 15 hours per week, on a shift rota basis between 7:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. 

 

What will you be responsible for?

As a Porter you'll be carrying out the movement of both Patients and other portable equipment, materials and consumables at Hinchingbrooke Treatment Centre.

Your day to day will include:

  • Ensuring that all tasks listed within the portering specification are carried out safely, efficiently and within the appropriate response times,
  • Providing a prompt and safe portering and security service to all wards and departments, in line with the Trust's needs,
  • Being responsible for the collection and delivery of specimens,
  • Becoming trained, skilled and competent to deal with Medical gas bottle collection, delivery and connections,
  • Reporting all significant matters to the portering/security team leader.

 

What are we looking for?

This role of Porter is great for you if you have:

  • Previous experience of Portering within a medical environment, and can prioritising workload,
  • An awareness of Trust policies and guidelines,
  • A strong understanding of health and safety regulations with the ability to identify potential hazards and report them to the Team Leader,
  • The ability to show respect and compassion when dealing with sensitive situations,
  • Excellent Communication skills.
