Mechanical Engineer

We're looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Severn Trent team based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire.

 

Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire.

Hours: 45 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us

 

What will you be responsible for?

As Mechanical Engineer, you'll be working within the Severn Trent team, supporting them in improving the resilience of the sludge and digester streams to prepare them for AMP8 work.

Your day to day will include:

  • Research and advises on best solution including energy use, materials handling, thermodynamic processes, fluid mechanics, and environmental controls;
  • Specify materials, equipment, piping, capacities, layout of plant or system and specification for construction;
  • Design mechanical assets such as pumps, industrial blowers, anaerobic digesters, screens and filters;
  • Ensures that equipment, operation and maintenance comply with design specifications and safety standards;
  • Carry out commissioning and monitoring of operational efficiency and performance of assets.

 

What are we looking for?

This role of Mechanical Engineer is great for you if:

  • An accredited higher national academic qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Membership of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers
  • Understanding construction management, including experience with MEICA assets.
  • Possession of CSCS/EUSR.
  • Experience working with CDM regulations and ISO9001 quality processes.
