KierBAM are a Joint Venture (JV) partnership between Kier and Bam Nuttall. We are currently delivering the redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site located in Plymouth and we are seeking an experienced H&S Advisor
Location: Plymouth, Devon
Contract: Permanent Full-Time, Can offer work from home or a local Kier office
Due to the site being a high Security Military Naval base, additional security checks will need to be made – BPSS level of security clearance is required. These checks can take up to 8 weeks to process
Responsibilities of a Health and Safety Advisor
As a Health and Safety Advisor, you'll be working within the Devonport Dockyard team, supporting them in the promotion, delivery and auditing of HS&E policies and programmes in the workplace and ensure that the project is legally compliant.
Your day to day as a Health and Safety Advisor will include:
- Supporting the Managers of H&S in the promotion and use of H&S policies and procedures in conjunction with KBJV Policies and Procedures.
- Assist the Manager of H&S to lead the development and implementation of Project H&S objectives, campaigns, and initiatives.
- When required, produce monthly and yearly H&S performance statistics and reports.
- Conduct regular and robust health and safety Inspections & Audits as prescribed by the Inspection monitoring targets
- Ensure all accidents, incidents and near misses are reported in a timely manner, and are also effectively investigated, and actions are delivered and closed as per timescales prescribed.
What are we looking for?
This role of Health and Safety Advisor is great for you if:
- Relevant H &S Related NVQ, IOSH and/or NEBOSH Certificate (preferably Construction) or equivalent.
- Membership of relevant professional institution (e.g., Tech IOSH or above).
- Accident/Investigation Qualification (e.g., Kelvin TOPSET, ROSPA or NEBOSH HSE Introduction to Incident Investigation)
- Auditing to ISO45001 standard
