We're looking for a Head of Planning to join our Natural Resources, Nuclear and Networks team.
Location: Hybrid working, with national travel required
Hours: Permanent, Full Time – flexible and part time hours may be available if desired, just let us know
Responsibilities
We're looking for an experienced Head of Planning to join our NRNN team. In this role you'll responsible for developing, implementing and ensuring compliance with the Contract Planning standard and have overall management responsibility for contract programmes within the division, ensuring they are robust, can dynamically respond to change and are in line with contract requirements. The Head of Planning is part of Business Excellence team focused on implementing a structured framework and approach to achieving industry leading business performance.
Your day to day will include:
- Responsible for developing, implementing and ensuring compliance with the Contract Planning standard on all appropriate contracts and projects including all associated templates, forms and systems.
- Carry out peer reviews of both tender programmes and contract programmes.
- Attend progress, optioneering, value engineering or risk workshops at project level as required.
- Work closely with the Project Controls team, monitoring programme and planning performance within the division to identify trends, either positive or negative, and develop strategies to either exploit or mitigate these trends, supporting implementation as required.
- Lead the allocation of contract planning resource across the business unit, ensuring that planners have the capacity, capability, and competency.

- Experience of a similar planning role or ready to make a step up in your career.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset to address complex integration challenges.
- Experience with training users and providing technical support.
