We are seeking an experienced Head of Commercial responsible to lead on developing commercial arrangements from concept through the execution which deliver long-term profitable and cash generative contracts. This will be achieved by working closely with internal and external stakeholder to understand cultural, behavioural and operational drivers, and enshrining this into effective commercial models and mechanisms.

The role will play a key part in growth alongside other business leaders.

 

Location: Devonport Dockyard Naval Base, Plymouth ( this role will cover Nationwide)

Hours: Full Time, Permanent, 40 hours per week

 

Responsibilities

As a Head of Commercial you'll be working within the Devonport Dockyard team, supporting them in the redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site, 

Your day to day will include:

  • Lead on the development of commercial strategies in response to new opportunities to maximise longevity of profit and cash for Kier.
  • Build strategic relationships with customers, JV partners and key supply chain to positively shape and respond to opportunities
  • Work with Bid teams to develop responses and proposals for new opportunities, seeking to optimise commercial solutions to support profitable delivery.
  • Work with Project Director(s) to develop Kier's offering and present these to clients. Discuss and present commercial arrangements to deliver most optimum solutions for clients and Kier.
  • Work with Business Development teams to scope and define the most advantageous commercial arrangements. Work with finance teams to identify solutions that maximise the returns.

  • Proven commercial leader with a track record of delivering successful projects/frameworks/portfolios
  • Experience of developing commercial arrangements from concepts through to live contracts
  • Experience of presenting and selling the benefit of commercial arrangements
  • Ability to negotiate and influence across internal and external stakeholders and bring them along the journey
