We're looking for a Groundworker Apprentice to join our Natural Resources, Nuclear and Networks Team based in Norfolk, working towards a Level 2 apprenticeship in Ground Working
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading construction and infrastructure services company on an apprenticeship. Whilst working towards a recognised qualification, you'll be able to put your learnings into practice in your day-to-day role, helping you progress within your chosen career.
Location: Based out of one of the following depots: Ipswich, Norwich, Kings Lynn
Hours: 40 hours per week
Salary: £17,888
How does an apprenticeship work?
As a Groundworker Apprentice you'll be enrolled onto a Level 2 apprenticeship in Ground Working, giving you the opportunity to earn whilst you learn. You'll work closely with the Natural Resources, Nuclear and Networks team to provide design, build and maintenance solutions to protect the UK's essential services and assets
Your day to day will include:
- Preparing and maintaining the foundation and infrastructure of a site
- Digging trenches for foundations, drainage systems, or utilities like water, gas, and electricity
- Using tools or machinery to excavate safely and accurately
- Developing and maintaining working relationships with key stakeholders
- Participating in site risk assessments and ensuring safe working practice
What are we looking for?
The role of Groundworker Apprentice is great for you if you have:
- 5 GCSEs including Maths and English, Grade C or above (Maths and English can be gained alongside course)
- The ability to handle physical work in varying weather conditions
- The ability to work collaboratively with a team
- Are punctual, self-motivated, and willing to learn
- Full driving licence
