We're looking for a General Foreperson to join our Regional Civils team based in Bridgewater Tidal Barrier, Somerset, to deliver one of England's biggest flood defence schemes, The Bridgwater Tidal Barrier.
Location: Bridgewater, Somerset
Business Area: Natural Resources, Nuclear and Networks – Regional Civils
Contract: Permanent, Full Time
What will you be responsible for?
As a General Foreperson, you'll be working within the Environment Agency team ensuring site works are planned, coordinated, and undertaken in a safe, timely and cost-efficient manner in accordance with the relevant project plans, design drawings, specification, and the programme.
Your day to day will include:
- Ensure full compliance with Kier procedures and contribute to the development of internal teams and best practices.
- ensuring delivery to programme, budget and quality standards
- Plan and coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractors, maintaining safe and efficient site logistics.
- coordinate the scheduling of workers, materials, and equipment to ensure that work is completed on time, across multiple work fronts
- oversee the daily operations, coordinate with subcontractors, and maintain effective communication with the site management team.
- Ensuring that effective corrective actions are taken on identified problems.
- Maintain accurate site records, reporting, and support programme updates while identifying and managing construction risks or design changes.
Who are we looking for?
This role of General Foreperson is great for you if:
- Previous experience working with main contractor in on Civils/Marine projects
- Strong leadership skills, a proactive mindset and solid technical knowledge across a broad range of civil engineering disciplines
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and industry standards
- You have Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card – Experienced Supervisor or Manager.
- You have Site Manager Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS).
