We're looking for a Communications Manager to join our Transportation Team based Oxford.

 

Location: Oxford, Oxfordshire - hybrid  working available, with travel to the office and sites as required

Hours: 37.5 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us

 

What will you be responsible for?

As a Communications Manager, you'll be working within the Transportation Team, responsible for internal and external communications, working on our Oxford Rail contract, while also supporting with other Rail projects that Kier is delivering when needed..

Your day to day will include:

  • Lead on proactive and reactive communications for Oxford Station and supporting with communications across the Rail business unit, creating and delivering the internal and external communications plans
  • Be the first point of contact for the Network Rail communications team at Oxford Station
  • Work closely with the social sustainability team to promote the work they do for local engagement e.g. school visits, careers fairs, etc.
  • Support with all external communications, including media statements, press releases, case studies and ensuring we have the correct approvals in place
  • Create and deliver external communications and marketing activity to support upcoming bids and award entries
  • First draft of all external communications, including media statements, press releases, case studies and responsible for ensuring all verifications are in place

 

What are we looking for?

This role of Communications Manager is great for you if:

  • You have relevant experience in a similar role, such as internal/external communications, public affairs or stakeholder liaison
  • You're a strong, strategic thinker and collaborator, with experience of creating and delivering communications and customer strategies
  • Experience within the Rail industry is advantageous
  • You have experience planning and coordinating internal and stakeholder liaison events
