We're looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our Transportation team based in Manchester/Penrith. In this role you will assist with all aspects of financial control of a Major Project under NEC4 C.

Location: Manchester/Penrith - remote working available, with travel to the office required
Hours: Permanent, Fulltime - 45 hours per week with some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us
Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per year + £4,750 annual car allowance + benefits
What will you be responsible for?
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you'll support the team in maximising value, minimising costs, driving profitability, and effectively managing risk, all while ensuring compliance with safety standards and ethical practices across the contract(s) you're involved in.
Your day to day will include:
- Support the commercial team to ensure cash flow is maximised including ensuring payments are received on time
- Assist in preparation of monthly cost / value reports
- Assist in implementing and ensuring compliance with the contract change control procedure, including the preparation and monitoring of client notices as required
- Manage subcontractors throughout the procurement and delivery process, including issuing enquiries, evaluating and comparing quotes against the tender, negotiating terms, placing orders, and agreeing final accounts and payments

- Proficient in the use of MS Office in particular Excel
- Excellent Communication skills both written and verbally
- Great organiser with proven time management skills
