We're looking for an Area Operations Manager to join our Natural Resources, Nuclear & Networks team based in Norwich
Location: Norwich/ surrounding areas – mixture of office and travelling to various sites, and home working
Hours: 45 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us
In this role you will be working on the Integrated Maintenance, Repair and Development Services (IMRDS) alliance in the Capital Works team. The team is committed to delivering high-quality, efficient solutions for critical infrastructure projects.
What will you be responsible for?
As an Area Operations Manager, you'll be overseeing the Capital main laying programme, working alongside engineers, delivery agents, and key stakeholders to ensure that our projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety and quality.
As part of the IMRDS team, you'll play a key role in driving improvements, mentoring your team, and ensuring that projects meet the AMP8 efficiency targets, while delivering tangible benefits for the water network.
Your day to day will include:
- Manage a team of delivery agents and suppliers to deliver capital main laying schemes
- Monitor and review productivity, performance and quality of team members and suppliers
- Promote safety and environmental standards on site, ensuring compliance with policies
- Regularly carry out site safety audits, toolbox talks and H&S inspections
- Foster excellent customer relationships with internal and external stakeholders
What are we looking for?
This role of Area Operations Manager is great for you if you hold:
- Experience of managing a team and overseeing large-scale construction projects
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop team members
- Expertise in managing health, safety, and environmental standards on site
- Proven track record in delivering projects on time and within budget
- Good at building relationships with stakeholders at all levels, including clients, local authorities and contractors
- Full driving licence
