We have a great opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join our Construction business in the North East.
The Quantity Surveyor will have the opportunity to be exposed to a wide variety of interesting projects, initially aligned to a community and culture centre in Blyth before moving onto a commerce, science and technology facility.
Location: Newcastle
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
What will you be responsible for?
As Quantity Surveyor you will be responsible for ensuring the commercial success of the project through effective management of commercial risk and opportunity and strict adherence to the contract.
Your day to day may include:
- Organising the division of projects into component work packages for procurement and assessing returns from sub-contractors and awarding work packages.
- Negotiating with sub-contractor supply chain to achieve best value.
- Managing applications for payment from sub contractors and preparation of applications for payment to clients.
- Monitoring and measuring actual expenditure against budgeted project expenditure in the form of CVR (Cost Value Reconciliation Reports)
- Preparation of final accounts.
What are we looking for?
This role of Senior Quantity Surveyor is great for you if:
- You have demonstrable experience working on 2 stage D&B projects
- Strong Knowledge of NEC and JCT contract conditions
- Prior experience of working within the construction main contracting environment
- Strong knowledge of project commercial management
- Comfort in managing relationships with client reps, sub contractors and internal stakeholders
