We're looking for a Project Manager to join our Transportation team based in Birmingham. Location: Birmingham

Hours: 40 hours per week 

 

What will you be responsible for?

As Project Manager you'll be working within the Project Management team, supporting with management of the construction sites achieving required project delivery to the customers' objectives, while maintaining standards of health and safety, quality, environmental impact and cost control. Responsible for the delivery of various projects, to the specified quality, the required programme and to the maximum commercial performance, you will be working work closely with the Senior Construction Manager, senior management, designers, sub-contractors & Programme Manager ensuring that schemes are completed in a safe manner whilst customer requirements and expectations are always maintained or exceeded.

Your day to day will include:

  • Overall responsibility for the successful delivery of various projects in the electrical (Lighting & Signals Upgrades) sector within the Birmingham City Council areas
  • Delivering the work to the specified quality without defects
  • Leading a team of site supervisors, and sub-contractor delivering the work safely without environmental incidents, and to the specified quality, ensure production and implementation of project plans, RAMS, ITP's plus other safe systems of works, when specified, in line with Kiers company procedures
  • Maximising the commercial performance of the contract, working closely with the appointed Programme manager ensuring success and mitigation of delays and subsequent costs
  • Producing procurement schedules and liaising with the procurement department making sure sites have adequate resources for tasks

 

What are we looking for?

This role of ProjectManager is great for you if:

  • Experience in County Council and inner city, electrical asset type projects in a highly regulated environment., ability to demonstrate the right behaviours, motivate and lead site team and contractors to high standards of compliance
  • Good knowledge of specifications and testing regimes relevant to electrical activities along with CSCS (Site Manager), SMSTS / IOSH Managing Safely, with an ability to challenge designs and resolve problems to a conclusion
  • Experience managing subcontractors valued up to £5m and producing, reviewing, and implementing safe systems of work for task specific activities and working knowledge of contract conditions, CDM regulations, design management, programme and risk management
