We're looking for an Assistant Planner to join the Southern Planning Team based in our South West Region.
Location: Southampton / Hampshire & surrounding counties
Contract: Permanent
What will you be responsible for?
As an Assistant Planner, you will be working with the Pre Construction & Construction Delivery Teams to offer planning support on multiple projects at tender, PCSA and delivery stages of that range from £5M - £120M+ in value.
The Assistant Planner will retain an overall development & monitoring capacity for projects to ensure construction plans are created, updated, and amended in line with project requirements.
Your day-to-day tasks will include:
- Reporting to senior planning team members & project leads within the region managing fully integrated programmes that incorporate all disciplines (i.e. design, commercial, construction).
- Monitoring of tender event schedule (TES) / procurement schedule
- Producing site logistics, scaffold schedules, temporary power & water requirements, temporary work schedules
- Identification of programme float and reporting on its status to the Senior Planners / Project Managers
- Consider alternative methods of delivery and accurately assess potential sequence changes to the critical path
Who are we looking for?
This role of an Assistant Planner is great for you:
- Understanding of programme from PCSA programme through to construction.
- Operational experience including experience of planning projects within the construction industry.
- Basic understanding in the use of planning techniques and the required planning toolsets – Asta Powerproject
- Awareness of various forms of tender documents, contract documents and specifications including JCT, NEC or bespoke forms of Construction Contracts.
- An OND/HND in a relevant subject is desirable, as is Professional membership of one or more of the following: RICS/CIOB/RIBA/ICE/CIBSE
