We're currently looking to recruit an Assistant Commercial Accountant within our Kier Places Finance Team on a 11 month Fixed Term Contract. This role will support the finance team in ensuring the accurate production of financial and management information as well as supporting the local management teams.

Location: Sheffield, with flexible hybrid working.

Contract: Fixed Term Contract – 11 months

Responsibilities

As an Assistant Commercial Accountant, your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Provision of front-line support to the Residential Solutions team, assisting and completing weekly and monthly reporting, including trading performance, cost base analysis and cash conversion.
• Provision of support to business segment management including attending local contract management and customer meetings where required.
• Assisting the Finance Business Partner with new contract mobilisations so that all financial reporting requirements are in place.
• Assisting with the preparation of business segment management accounts, including reporting packs / commentary and analysis.
• Preparation of analysis in respect of WIP, Debt and cash positions on contracts.
• Assisting with the preparation of quarterly forecasts and annual business plans.
• Completion of balance sheet reconciliations.

What are we looking for?

This role of Assistant Commercial Accountant is great for you if you have:

• Ideally working towards attaining a professional finance qualification such as CIMA, ACCA or ACA.
• Previous experience of preparing cost journals.
• Experience operating in a commercial Finance or accounting role, with the ability to use a range of IT packages including Microsoft Office and bespoke packages and accounting systems e.g. Oracle. In addition
• Effective analytical skills and the ability to manage large volumes of data
• Strong communication skills, (both written and verbal)
• Experience of working in finance preferably in a contract environment
• Relevant financial experience in a commercial environment
