We're looking for a Communications Manager to join our Transportation Team based in Northamptonshire.

 

Location: Brixworth, Northamptonshire - 3 - 4 days per week required on site

Hours: 37.5 hours per week  - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us

 

 

What will you be responsible for?

As a Communications Manager, you'll be working within the Transportation Team, supporting them in internal and external communications, working with North and West Northamptonshire contracts.

Your day to day will include:

  • Lead on proactive and reactive communications for North Northamptonshire and West Northamptonshire contracts, creating and delivering the internal and external communications plans
  • Be the first point of contact for the client communications team, all external communications, including media statements, press releases, case studies and ensuring we have the correct approvals in place
  • Support with the West and North Northamptonshire Highways social media accounts
  • Gain a key understanding of the local area, including the local media landscape and key council/governmental stakeholders
  • Provide counsel to key stakeholders on communications activity, including briefings for media engagement

 

What are we looking for?

This role of Communications Manager is great for you if:

  • You have relevant experience in a similar role, such as communications, public affairs, customer relations or stakeholder liaison
  • You have experience working in or with Local Authorities
  • You have excellent writing skills, with the ability to take complex information and make it easy to understand and accessible to our people, with the ability to tailor written content to suit different audiences and channels
  • You have experience planning and coordinating internal and stakeholder liaison events
  • You can demonstrate proven communication skills with clients and our employees with the ability to influence change and communicate in an empathetic and effective manner
